2011 Women's Distance Festival 5K - 18 Years of Running the Distance to Stop Domestic Violence

presents the
18th Annual Women’s Distance Festival 5k

The Women's Distance Festival 5K Race and Health Walk is an event that encourages the participation of women and girls of all ages, skills and abilities to become competitive athletes.  This event is often a female runner's first time participating  in a competitive 5K race.   

This year the event will include over 100 women participating in the North Carolina Road Runners Club - Women's Beginning Running Program

The course is a USAT&F certified 5K loop. Starting and finishing  on Halifax Street between the Halifax Community Center and Pilot Mill and winds through part of the historic Mordecai neighborhood west of Wake Forest Road.

This will be our 18th year partnering with InterAct.  A portion of the proceeds and all direct donations will benefit Interact, a private non-profit agency whose mission is to provide safety, support, and community awareness for victims and survivors of domestic violence and rape/sexual assault.
